Firewood: Please do not bring your own firewood.  We sell firewood here, and there are numerous places to purchase it in the surrounding area.

Cancellations

Cancel Prior to June 1st:  We will refund your deposit minus a $50.00 cancellation fee or a Rain Check for the full amount of your deposit.

Cancel After June 1st:  We will offer a Cain Check for the full amount of your deposit.  No Refunds After June 1st.

Rain Checks
 Rain Checks do not expire.  They can not be used for Oktoberfest Weekend.  Rain Checks are non-transferable.  Rain Checks cannot be used as a deposit.  You must have your Rain Check with you in order to apply it to your balance upon arrival.
Reservations
 Smuggler's Den now takes reservations for the 2012 season!  You can submit a reservation request from www.smugglersdencampground.com or call us at 207-244-3944.  We return calls and emails between 10am - 4pm.
Reservation Deposit for Camp Sites

1-6 night stay:  We require a deposit of 50% of the total basic cost of the visit to secure a reservation.  

7+ night stays: We require a deposit of 100% of the total basic cost of the visit to secure a reservation. 

We strongly suggest reservations in July and August.
Reservation Deposit for Camp Cabins
 Camp Cabins rent weekly (Saturday to Saturday).  A non-refundable deposit (50%) is required with a credit card to confirm a camp cabin reservation.  A second deposit of the same amount (50%) which is also non-refundable will be charged 30 days prior to arrival date.  Taxes will be paid at registration.  OFF SEASON 2+ NIGHT STAYS ACCEPTED!!
Oktoberfest
 Oktoberfest is put on by the Southwest Harbor~Tremont Chamber of Commerce.  We have a 2 night (Friday and Saturday night) minimum for Oktoberfest weekend.  There are no refunds, returns or rain checks for Oktoberfest weekend.  All sales are final.


Extra Person Fees
 All sites include 4 people (cabins include 5 people) over the age of 5.  Additional people over the age of 5 are $8.00/person/night.  People under the age of 5 are free.
Extra Vehicle Fee
 All sites/cabins include 1 vehicle.  If you have a Motorhome your tow behind vehicle is included as well.  Additional vehicles are $5.00/vehicle/night.
Pets
 Smuggler's Den is a Pet Friendly campground.  Pets need to be on a leash at all times.  Pets must be attended to, please do not leave them in the campground alone.  Finally please pick up after them.

Pool Rules

Lifeguard
 There is NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY!  All swimmers swim at their own risk.
Children
 No one under 14 years of age may be in THE POOL AREA unless accompanied by an adult (18+ yrs old).  THIS IS STATE LAW.
Beverages
 No glass containers or alcoholic beverages are permitted in the pool area.
Pets
 No pets are permitted in the pool area.
Behavior
 Anyone not behaving in a proper and courteous manner will be asked to leave the pool area.  We want the pool to provide a pleasant and safe experience for our campers.  If you observe dangerous or rude behavior, please let us know.
Litter
 Please dispose of your litter properly - if litter becomes a problem then we will have to prohibit all food and drink in the pool area.


Other Rules/Policies

Safety and Environmental Rules
 Tree cutting and bark stripping is prohibited

Campfires are permitted only in the designated fire rings, must be kept to a modest size and not left unattended.

Motor Vehicles:  No faster then 10mph.  Anyone found speeding or driving in an unsafe manner will eb asked to leave the property immediately.

Golf Carts:  Private Golf Carts and other motorized vehicles are not permitted on property.

For Safety Sake, We ask that there be no bicycle riding after dark and all bicyclists wear a helmut.
Quiet Hours
 Quiet Hours are at 10pm every night.
